    Description

This is a fun reproduction of a Majolica Gurgle Pot / Pitcher / Jug. When liquid is poured from it a gurgling sound emanates. The sound is the result of an air lock created in the tail of the fish being released. Originally called glug-glug jugs, these entertaining pitchers were produced since the 1870s in Stokes-on-Trent by Thomas Forester & Sons.
This particular Gurgle Pot was made in China by Wanjian. It’s dated 1991. Wanjian is a producer of porcelain and ceramics, primarily reproductions of pricey originals.
