THIS LISTING IS FOR A GORGEOUS 19th CENTURY ENGLISH MAJOLICA ART POTTERY COMPOTE WITH HERONS ON THE PEDESTAL, c. 1870-1880. THE TOP OF THE COMPOTE IS DECORATED WITH FOUR GREEN MOLDED LILY PADS WITH A WHITE WATER LILY FLOWER IN THE CENTER. THE BASE IS DECORATED WITH THREE STANDING HERONS IN BROWN ABOVE A MOTTLED GREEN AND BROWN BASE. THIS BASE HAS A GOLDEN COLORATION AND IS UNMARKED. THIS LOVELY COMPOTE IS GUARANTEED TO BE AS REPRESENTED AND IS OF A QUALITY MADE BY ONE OF THE MAJOR FACTORIES MAKING MAJOLICA DURING THIS PERIOD.
THIS NICE COMPOTE IS IN EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION WITH NO NOTED FLAWS, A SHINY GLAZE AND NO CRAZING.
MEASURES 6" HIGH WITH A TOP DIAMETER OF 9 1/4" WITH THE BASE MEASURING 4 5/8" AT WIDEST. WEIGHS 2 POUNDS.
