Antique Majolica Match Holder Striker Comic Man & Suitcase With Bulldog So Cute!

Here we have a hard to find form of majolica match holder/striker for this listing. We believe that it is German and features a little man with a cane and suitcase flanked by his
cross-eyed
bulldog. The striker is on the back of the dog and doesn't look as if it has ever been used. The matches go in the dog's head. The man reminds us of an early comic character but his name doesn't come to mind. The condition is good, but there is a small old flake on the brim of his hat in front and another small flake on the back brim. Please refer to the photos for the best look and determination of condition.
Measurements are: 4 ½” high x 3 ¾” side to side.
