    Antique Wedgwood Majolica Strawberry Dish
    Only Wedgwood could design a strawberry dish this charming. The 5.75 inch dish has squared off handles which extend it to 6.5 inches. There is a myriad of pleats across the piece ending at the edges of the handles. Bows in gray accent the handles. The most unique part of the design is two clusters of strawberries and their leaves opposite each other with stems crossing between the clusters. The rosy tone of the strawberries against the dark gray leaves is most appealing. The entire dish is edged in dark brown, which sets off the lighter colors. On the bottom we clearly read "Wedgwood." There is the English registration mark which dates the piece to 1878-the height of the Aesthetic Period (1870-1890). The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines, or repairs.
