This album was signed by Root Boy Slim (R.I.P.) and Ernie Lancaster (R.I.P).Here is my story about Root Boy Slim: One day my friend Pat and I went to my favorite used record store, Sunshine Records, in South Daytona Beach, Florida. Shortly after we arrived the store's owner asked us if we'd seen Root Boy Slim as he'd just left a few minutes before and was walking down the street as he didn't have a car. We replied no and quickly purchased a couple of albums and took off to try to find him. It didn't take long before we spotted him, so we stopped our car and asked Root Boy if he wanted a ride. He said sure and hopped in our car and we started to take him to the house where he was currently staying in Daytona Beach; he was friends with the sound guy from Finky's and was crashing on his couch for the time. We informed Root Boy we were fans of his and had his records. On the way back to his house he asked us to stop by a convenience store. We did, and he purchased some Beck's beer. As he told us, it was a very good day for him (we made him feel like a "rock star") as he usually drank the cheapest beer he could find like Milwaukee's Best. We finally got to his house and Root Boy invited us in to party. We stayed for a while and had a few beers. Root Boy attempted to play the harmonica for us, but he was in no shape to do so as he wheezed and coughed after every blow. Before we left he graciously signed the records we'd bought and as a parting gift, he went into another room and brought me this record and signed it for me as well. Root Boy Slim was a very entertaining fellow. He proudly boasted to us that he had puked on every stage he had ever played on. This chance encounter happened a couple of years before he died in June 1993. A very nice guy who is missed.
As for Ernie Lancaster, a friend of my parents was a big blues fan who was also friends with Ernie. He was kind enough to get Ernie to sign my album.
