Description
This jellyfish dish is pretty simple to prepare and is really very tasty and has a special textural crunch all of its own. It is especially good during this season! this is a vinegary cold dish and therefore very cool and refreshing to the palate.Salt has been added to jellyfish as preservative. To remove salt, soak jellyfish in water and change the water 3 times at 30 minute intervals. The jellyfish is now ready for preparation.
Heat water to near boiling temperature put jellyfish into hot water for about 5 to 8 seconds , do not soak it in hot water more than 8 minutes to avoid deterioration in quality, soak jelly in cold water again for 20 minutes and drain.
Asian style Jellyfish Salad Recipe
Prep time: 10 mins, plus add your jellyfish soaking time
What you need:
14 oz jellyfish
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp chopped chili peppers (optional)
How :
Add the jellyfish, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and chili peppers into mixing bowl. Mix and taste. Adjust seasonings as necessary: it should have a balance of sweet, salty and sour. Pour into serving bowl, cover and put in the fridge to chill and marinate at least one hour* or until the rest of the dinner is ready. Just before serving give it a quick stir. Enjoy!
