Rare Holdcroft Majolica Acorn Inkwell c.1875

Description

Offered is a rare Holdcroft inkwell circa 1875.
Modeled as a large green oak leaf forming the pen tray with acorns to either side.
The inkwell is an opened acorn with a pink interior. All sitting on branch supports.
Although many of Joseph Holdcroft items were unsigned, I think I see an H on the underside inside the oval.
He did this same piece with a little blue bird as the inkwell as seen in photo.
It is in fabulous antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has the usual overall glaze crazing from age.
The colors are magnificent!
It measures 5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and stands 2.75 inches tall.
