RARE White Majolica Basket Weave Art Pottery Pitcher w/ GREAT CACTUS DESIGN

This ceramic pitcher is a great example of why people fall for majolica--the freedom in expression can lead to really neat designs, like the cactus decoration on this piece. Was the artist inspired by a trip or just sick of flowers and fruit?  Regardless, this looks fantastic and is very well done. The basket is particularly detailed, with splints that have grain lines so the weave looks very real. The pitcher is about 8" high and 8" from spout to handle. The bottom is 5" in diameter, and is stamped "Made in Italy". Condition is not perfect, with a small surface chip near the spout (see pic), a tiny rough spot on the rim and tiny nicks on the inside that might be glazing flaws (see pics).
