    Description

This is a U.S.S. Arizona Memorial (located at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii) Collector's Spoon. On the end of the handle it reads "U.S.S. Arizona Memorial." When you flip the spoon over there is the letter "F" within a circle and the word "USA". Since there are no sterling silver markings stamped on the back I'm assuming that this is silver plate, but I'm not sure. It is not sterling silver. It's worn along the edge of the round end of the spoon. The plastic box is scuffed and worn in areas. At some point someone wrote something unidentifiable on the back of the box - the only thing I can make out is "89", which may be the year the original collector obtained it. Please examine the photos for imperfections and feel free to ask any questions before bidding. Returns accepted, buyer pays shipping. Thank you!
The inscription on the back of the box reads:"The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii is an enclosed bridge which transversely spans the sunken hull of the gallant battleship, U.S.S. Arizona. The hull, resting on the bottom of the harbor is clearly visible in the unique photograph. The blue streak trailing from the bombed ship is oil still seeping from the rusted fuel tank. The memorial was solemnly dedicated May 30, 1962. Its end wall is inscribed with the names of more that [sic] 1100 men who lost their lives when the USS Arizona went down during the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941."
