The strop has two sides the leather side is made for resharpening the blades edges while the canvas side works best for removing unwanted debris. The metal buckles can be used to pull the hanging strop tight while cleaning and sharpening so it stays perfectly in place. This strop was designed specifically for Union Razor straight razors SR2 & SR3.
