Vintage Cobalt Blue Majolica Jardiniere/Planter/Cachepot; Cherubs

Description

This listing is for an ornately decorated, vintage cobalt blue Majolica jardinière/planter/cachepot. A central cartouche of hand painted cherubs is framed by beautifully colored, three dimensional, raised flourishes and decorations. The reverse is decorated with a raised floral pattern surrounded by the same three dimensional, raised flourishes and decorations. It should be noted that the photographs bring out the lighter shades of blue in the pattern while the overall appearance is more cobalt in tone when viewed in person.
This large Majolica jardinière/planter/cachepot stands 9 inches tall and measures 9 ½ inches wide. There are no chips but the typical light crazing appears mostly on the interior and on the bottom.
The bottom is also marked as appears in the photographs.
