Vintage Large Duck Head Sitar, Yaqoob Music House Bansanwala Bazar Rawalpindi.
Vintage Sitar, Unique, restored, Stored in AC non smoking home. Frets, strings and tuning knobs replaced last year. 54" tall.....Bought it years ago in terrible condition, the gourd had cracks and the peacock head was missing. the neck was in good shape, I repaired the gourd, and put a wooden duck head at the top, I like working with wood, bought the 'kit' from India of strings, frets, string, knobs etc. Tuning it is an experience and never want to do it again. As a base guitarist I was able to tune it once. The tuning knobs, like a violin, are friction based. I was surprised how long they held the tune. The majority of the strings are "sympathetic" meaning they are not picked, but vibrate when the main string is played. I think the wooden bridge on those strings could be better placed or adjusted. It does play. Sold as is and pick up/inspection at the NJ Shore
